LAKEVILLE, PA — Sculptured Ice Works’ annual Crystal Cabin Fever event is scheduled for Friday, February 11 through Monday, February 28 this year. Hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.

The event was created to cure the cabin fever people often feel in February. Originally, a life-sized ice cabin was built; since then, a new theme has been chosen every year with creative variations of the crystal cabin and an ice slide. This year the theme is “Wild West.” Enter through an ice coal mine maze and explore an old western town. Sit on an ice covered wagon and drive the team of ice horses. Ride this year’s train-themed dual-run giant ice slide and see animals carved out of ice. Live ice carving shows and demonstrations will be ongoing.

The sculptures of Crystal Cabin Fever are created using ice blocks harvested in the Sculpted Ice Works plant in the Poconos. Sculpted Ice Works is located on Route 590, near Lake Wallenpaupack midway between Hawley and Hamlin. The cost for adults is $10; $6 for children under 15. Children under three are admitted free.
