WAYMART, PA — The Chamber of the Northern Poconos (Chamber) will hold its Young Entrepreneur award ceremony on Thursday, January 18 at the Ladore Lodge.
The award recognizes the efforts of an individual or individuals aged 40 or younger who shows an entrepreneurial spirit in their dedication and commitment to the community through their interest in business, leadership and personal achievement.
The winners will be honored at the Chamber’s annual membership meeting and luncheon.
The Chamber will present multiple awards this year. Recognized are:
Rory Steelman, Good Dog Treatery
Chloe Nicolini, Slateplate
Scott Amberg Jr. and James Hoffmann, Integra-Clean & Dry
In cooperation with SEEDS (Sustainable Energy Education & Development Support), the Chamber wishes to increase the region’s green business practices, especially considering consumers are increasingly shopping for greener companies, and honor a member business for reducing their carbon footprint.
Sustainable business practices can include energy conservation, renewable power, transportation, water conservation, purchasing/waste prevention and recycling/composting. By recognizing a Green Business of the Year, the Chamber highlights businesses that make this region a more sustainable place to live and work.
This year, the Green Business of the Year award will be presented to the Greater Honesdale Partnership.
The Chamber thanked My Benefits Advisor and the Chamber's Chairman’s Circle for sponsoring the event. Chairman’s Circle businesses include PPL, Honesdale National Bank, Brookfield Renewable U.S., Grimm Construction, The Dime Bank, Wayne Bank, Settler’s Hospitality and Bold Gold Media Group.
At the meeting, members will be voting on by-law revisions. To review the proposed revisions to the by-laws, visit the Chamber.
The Chamber of the Northern Poconos is dedicated to seeing our communities prosper whether through helping our member businesses succeed, fostering new business development, or providing educational opportunities that help to groom future leaders. Annual recognition of outstanding business leaders is their way to salute and thank those leaders for enhancing this region as a great place to live and work.
