William H. Daub

William H. Daub of Cochecton Center, NY, a lifelong resident, passed away at the age of 99 on Sunday, May 2, 2021 at the Roscoe Regional Health Care in Roscoe, NY. The son of the late William and Ida (Weyant) Daub, he was born April 11, 1922 in Cochecton Center, NY. 

William was a self-employed house painter. William was a graduate of Narrowsburg Central High School and was a letter winner for both track and baseball. 

During WWII, William served in the Army, attaining the rank of corporal, and was an American prisoner of war in Stalag II, Germany. William was a POW for 165 days; he fought in several battles and received the Purple Heart Medal for injuries he sustained. 

 William is survived by his niece, Donna Hartley; her two sons: Brett Hartley and his wife, Stephanie, and Brian Hartley and his wife, Audra; their children, grandchildren and many cousins. William is predeceased by his parents and his sister, Marjorie Elizabeth (Daub) Kimble. 

A graveside service was be held on May 12 at Lava Cemetery in Narrowsburg NY
