Learn more about a co-working business

HONESDALE, PA — Are you looking for affordable office space? Tired of working alone at home? Plagued by slow internet?

The Chamber of the Northern Poconos will hold a grand opening and ribbon cutting for the Hub on Thursday, November 4, at 3:45 p.m. at 3373 Lake Ariel Hwy. in Honesdale.

“We saw a need for coworking spaces since COVID hit last March,” said April Rogers, who co-owns the building with her husband, Dr. Michael Rogers.  “Many people were forced to work from home which worked short term.” But now, she said, it has become more difficult.

“Our building has been vacant since before COVID-19 and we set out to find a meaningful way to use it to help our community.”

Thirteen rooms have been turned into suites. There is also a conference room, a business center with printer, copier and fax machine, plus a break room and event room.

And the internet, Rogers said, is high-speed.

Workers can access the space during normal hours (9 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, except holidays) and are free to use the space during other hours if a manager is present. Dedicated suite memberships include 24/7 access.

For more information on the Hub, please contact April Rogers at 570/493-1990.

Seeking area veterans

MONTICELLO, NY —  Vet 2 Vet, a new peer-networking program from Action Toward Independence (ATI) of Sullivan and Orange Counties, is reaching out to veterans.

In a safe, anonymous and non-judgmental environment, Vet 2 Vet will offer peer support, advocacy, benefit advisement, peer counseling, financial literacy, mental health support and more.

Ryan Fuller and Kevin Coates, ATI’s veteran advocates, said the goal of Vet 2 Vet is to get veterans involved in the community and assist them in getting the help and benefits they have earned through their service.

Input is sought and activities are being planned. A trip to the Army Football Military Appreciation game on November 13 is scheduled.

To learn more about Vet 2 Vet or to register for the game, contact Ryan Fuller or Kevin Coates at ATI, 309 Broadway in Monticello or call 845/794-4228.
