HONESDALE, PA — At the recent 162nd Wayne County Fair, amateur bakers competed in the Blue Ribbon Apple Pie contest, the Homemade Chocolate Cake contest, the Angel Food Cake contest and the PA Preferred Junior Baking Cookies—Brownies—Bars contest. 

The winners were as follows:

Blue Ribbon Apple Pie:

1st place: Anna Rickard of Honesdale

2nd place: Diane Rickard of Honesdale

3rd place: Esther Clay of Pleasant Mount

Homemade Chocolate Cake:

1st place: Diane Rickard of Honesdale

2nd place: Megan Keating of Jefferson Township

3rd place: Anna Rickard of Honesdale

Angel Food Cake: 

1st place: Tiffany Tyler of Honesdale

2nd place: Shelley Robinson of Lake Ariel

PA Preferred Junior Baking Cookies—Brownies—Bars: 

1st place: Gwendolyn Schuman of Honesdale

2nd place: Truly Zablocky of Forest City

3rd place: Miriam Smith of Honesdale

All first-place winners are now eligible to compete at the 2025 PA Farm Show in Harrisburg in January.
