DELHI, NY — A $10,000 contribution from Wayne Bank has kickstarted a campaign by the Friends of Bramley Mountain Fire Tower (FBMFT) to reconstruct the tower.
The tower was decommissioned by the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation in 1970 and removed in 1975. FBMFT was recently incorporated as a 501(c)(3) organization.
“We’re very grateful for this very generous donation from Wayne Bank,” said Ann Roberti, the president of FBMFT. “This support will go a long way towards us reaching our goal of raising the funds necessary to reconstruct and then maintain the fire tower on Bramley Mountain.”
Bramley Mountain is located in eastern Delaware County, NY. Once the tower is restored, visitors will have a 360-degree view of the surrounding Catskills. In the meantime, hikers can see where the fire tower will be reconstructed.
