May is finally rolling in with that classic mix of springtime freshness and a hint of summer warmth here in upstate NY. The trees are bursting with leaves, and everyone’s gearing up for outdoor adventures, whether it’s hiking the Catskills, boating on the lake or simply enjoying the local farmers’ market.
Here are some events happening in our communities and beyond:
The Cochecton Volunteer EMS is looking for part-time residents who want to help their community. Whether you want to drive, support the team or become an EMT, Cochecton EMS will provide training, support and a crew that feels like family. No experience needed. Training is free. Lakeview Bar will hold an Ultra Dance Night on Saturday, May 31, beginning at 8 p.m. Music from the ‘80s, ‘90s and 2000s. Age 21 and older with a $10 entry fee. See you there!
A penny social will be held on Saturday, May 10 at the Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and calling starts at 12:30 p.m. Beverages, hot dogs and sauerkraut plus chips will be available. Coffee and cake will be served after the calling. It’s sponsored by the Ladies Aid Society. See you there!
