This morning
as I brushed my teeth
a black spider
suddenly
dropped
down
into the sink.
The instant
that I bent down
for a closer look,
I thought I heard
the spider say:
Hurt me and you hurt yourself.
And before I could say:
Please, spider, stay,
it lifted itself away.
