HONESDALE, PA — On Thursday, August 12, the 159th Wayne County Fair (August 6-14, 2021) featured a series of 10 hot, paced harness races in front of the grandstands.

Starting with the first local county fair in 1862, silks and sulkies have been a main attraction, in addition to the midway, and in the early days even a few racy “girlie shows.”

1st race: (1-mile pace, $2,600 purse) Dash One at 2:06.0

2nd race: (1-mile pace, $2,600 purse) Jasper Hanover at 2:08.4

3rd race: (1-mile pace, $7,725 purse) Terry A. Hanover at 1:59.1

4th race: (1-mile pace, $5,300 purse) TSM Princess Lexi at 2:02.0

5th race: (1-mile pace, $5,300 purse) Catie Faye Hanover at 2:01.3

6th race: (1-mile trot, $2,050 purse) Sweet Heart As at 2;06.4

7th race: (1-mile trot, $7,800 purse) Chessy Hanover at 2:05.1

8th race: (1-mile trot, $7,725 purse) Top Me Off at 2:06.2

9th race: (1-mile trot, $2,650 purse) Ginger Tree Knot at 2:05.2

10th race: (1-mile trot, $2,600 purse) RT Catalina at 2:09.1.
