LOOKOUT, PA — On Friday, December 13, 2024, the Tri-Gal 4-H Club met at the Lookout Firehall for its monthly meeting and 2024 club awards night. Members also took the opportunity to celebrate being named Wayne County 2024 Super Club of the Year. This great honor was awarded to our club on November 15, 2024 at the county Achievement Night in Honesdale.
During the fall season, our club proudly completed more than five community service projects including the long-standing traditional Thanksgiving baskets, holiday cards for area nursing homes, VA Hospital gift cards and holiday cards, Damascus Food Pantry collection, and Coats 4-Kids.
After the business meeting, our 4-H family enjoyed a covered-dish dinner and Christmas bingo prior to the awards presentation. We also presented a gift to leaders Marissa and Jordan Hoffman to welcome the newest member of the Tri-Gal 4-H Club family, Clayton.
The following members were acknowledged during our club awards night. One-year member: Jackson Hoffman; two-year Cloverbud member: Henry Freidenstine; three-year members: Dylan Burke, Nathan Burke, Carter Kennedy, Garrett Keninitz, Cade Rutledge, Paige Rutledge and Sydney Rutledge; five-year member: 2024 Club Pledge Leader, Cora Freidenstine; six-year member: 2024 Club Vice-President Andrew Freidenstine; seven-year members: 2024 News Reporter Claire Goldstein, 2024 President Gillian Goldstein and Natalie Goldstein; nine-year member: 2024 Secretary Olyvea Burke; 10-year members: 2024 Treasurer Channing Rutledge and Peter Modrovsky; 13-year member: Elektra Kehagais. We presented gifts to the following aging-out members: Carter Kennedy, Gillian Goldstein and Peter Modrovsky. Members receiving Perfect Attendance Awards: Andrew Freidenstine and Channing Rutledge. Our club acknowledged our leaders for their years of service: Rich Brown—Ruby Level 30 years award; Natasha Avery—17 years; Melissa Rutledge, Pearl Level—15 years award; Marissa Hoffman—9 years; Jordan Hoffman—Bronze Level 1-year award. We also welcomed Amy Rutledge and Betsy Turner as new leaders for the 2024/2025 program year.
The following received new-member welcome gifts and a certificate: Ryder Rutledge, Kelly Ann Whitmore, Orville Whitmore, Alissa Turner and Riley Emmett. We are happy to have you!
We concluded our club awards with the following honors. These members went above and beyond club and county expectations and had an exceptional year in the 4-H program. 2024 Honorary Members: Junior Level: Cade Rutledge and Dylan Burke; Intermediate Level: Paige Rutledge, Sydney Rutledge and Nathan Burke. Senior Level: Olyvea Burke. 2024 Outstanding Members: Junior Level: Cora Freidenstine. Intermediate Level: Andrew Freidenstine. Senior Level: Channing Rutledge.
