DINGMANS FERRY, PA — This is recess week for most elected officials. They are in their home districts. Since most state and federal legislators are shying away from in-person town Halls, Delaware Valley Action! (DVA!) is hosting a No-Show Town Hall on Sunday, March 23 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Delaware Township Municipal Building at 116 Wilson Hill Road.
In 2017, DVA! invited Sen. Toomey to a Town Hall and over 200 Pike residents came to ask “Where are you?” But he didn’t show up. So we had a mannequin with his face on it!
DVA! has invited the following officials, who have all been elected to work for us as constituents:
Dave McCormick - US Senator
John Fetterman - US Senator
Rob Bresnahan - Member of Congress from the 8th District
Tarah Probst - State Assembly Member
Jeff Olsommer - State Assembly Member
Lisa Baker - State Senator
Christa Caceres - Pike County Commissioner
Elected officials will be present in person or via mannequin to receive questions and comments from their constituents. The event will be recorded, so even if our elected reps aren’t there, they will receive an audio recording of all the comments and questions!
Question areas will include:
Environment/Fracking
Gutting of USAID, Dept of Education, EPA, Veterans Affairs, USDA and other institutions
Branding Ukraine the invader and Russia the peace-maker
Attacks on our judiciary and Constitutional crisis
Access to health care
Rights of our LGBTQ community
Abortion rights
Suppression of voting rights in Pennsylvania.
Bring your questions and comments. We will ensure your questions will be heard by the elected officials.
