Built in 1903 as an extensive summer estate, the lodge at Lacawac was constructed in the style of the great Adirondack lodges of that era. It boasted central heat, indoor plumbing, and gas-powered lighting and refrigeration.
Craig Lukatch, sanctuary president, will conduct an exclusive tour of the lodge, which is decorated for the holiday season.
The tour is free, but registration is required.
Lacawac Sanctuary is located at 195 Sanctuary Rd.
