To take away our rights is unacceptable

I attended the Woman’s March in Narrowsburg because, as a woman, I have experienced a lot of instances where my body was degraded. Whether it be from sexual molestation, men wanting nothing more from me than my body, or male figures rolling their eyes whenever I opened my mouth, I was put down in numerous ways just because of the gender role I played.

That doesn’t include the centuries upon centuries of abuse that my female ancestry endured merely for the sex of their body. The best known to me was my grandma in the Holocaust, who was raped by Nazi perpetrators countless number of times.

When I hear that there is more degradation of women still happening in the world today, I know I need to take a stand. Women are powerful beyond measure and to take away our bodily rights is unacceptable and hurts me at the very core of my being.
