LIBERTY, NY — Radio Catskill will host acclaimed photographer Isaac Jeffreys in a special live appearance at the station’s community room on Saturday, June 10, beginning at 5 p.m.
It is part of the station’s Catskill Talks series, and is free and open to the public.
Catskill Talks is an artist talk series that will be held from June to October. It will feature local artists, musicians, poets, painters, photographers and authors, and will delve into their unique artistic creations, share their creative process, and reveal the driving forces behind their works.
Jeffreys has always had a deep connection to the serene and historically significant Hudson Valley/Catskills region, a Radio Catskill spokesperson said.
The architecture and atmosphere found in the resorts of the Borscht Belt have long captivated the photographer’s imagination.
Choosing to photograph during nighttime hours, he employs techniques that create surreal effects, lending an otherworldly quality to his captivating imagery, the spokesperson said.
Jeffreys sees the Borscht Belt as a cultural renaissance, and his art offers a poignant reflection and response to that era.
Radio Catskill is located at 2758 State Rte. 52.
This project is made possible in part with funds provided from a Sullivan County Arts & Heritage Grant, funded by the Sullivan County Legislature and administered by Delaware Valley Arts Alliance.
