On September 24, 2024, at approximately 4:59 pm, members of the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Blooming Grove responded to a domestic incident at 103 Larkspur Lane North, Pocono Woodlands, Dingman Township, Pike County.
The incident involved Colin John Winkler and his mother, Jacqueline Winkler.
Upon arrival, officers observed Colin Winkler on the rear deck of the residence, covered in blood. He was immediately taken into custody.
Inside the residence, troopers discovered bloody knives in the kitchen, along with the deceased bodies of Jacqueline Winkler and Jeffrey Winkler, Colin's mother and father.
Colin Winkler was charged with homicide and arraigned by MDJ Christine Cavallaro, who remanded him to the Pike County Prison. The investigation is ongoing.
