The Neave Piano Trio kicks off the Shandelee Music Festival

BETHEL, NY — On Sunday, April 14 at 3 p.m. at the Bethel Woods Event Gallery, the “Celebrating Piazzola with the Neave Piano Trio” performance will begin the 26th season of the Shandelee Music Festival (SMF). The concert is the first in the “P.L.A.Y. the Classics” series for 2019 and is presented in collaboration with Bethel Woods Center for the Arts.

The trio is made up of violinist Anna Williams, cellist Mikhail Veselov and pianist Eri Nakamura. They’ve performed in concert series and festivals worldwide, including Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, and the Samoylov and Rimsky Korsakow Museums’ Chamber Music Series in St. Petersburg, Russia.

Tea tasting at The Chi Hive with Adam Scott

NARROWSBURG, NY — On Friday, April 16 from 6 to 8 p.m., Adam Scott, owner of Eastern Tea Bar, will be hosting a tea tasting at The Chi Hive. Participants will explore five different Chinese teas by tasting, comparing, contrasting and learning how each was made.

Adam Scott, owner of the Eastern Tea Bar, has been steeping in the world of tea for many years and has developed a passion for its culture,  sharing his wealth of knowledge with other tea enthusiasts.

Registration in advance is encouraged as there is limited seating. Tickets cost $30. Participants who bring a friend will only pay $20. The Chi Hive is located at 22 Main St.

Lynn Rideout as the “Artist in Residence”

SHOHOLA, PA — On April 13, from 1 to 3 p.m., Lynn Rideout is the artist in residence for the Artists’ Market Community Center. She’ll be communicating with her “inner child” to evoke creations she hopes will be healing.

Rideout is also willing to lead others in this process of pastel drawing with the “other” hand. Participants may join at any time. No previous artistic experience is needed to participate.       


Wooden pallet paint-and-sip

HONESDALE, PA — The Cooperage is hosting a spring-themed paint-and-sip on Friday, April 12 from 7 to 9 p.m. Attendees will paint red poppies or other flower designs on 20x20 wooden pallets. Inaugural ‘Pop-Up Prom’ a success

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, March 30 at 6th and River, The Cooperage Projected hosted its first ever Pop-Up Prom, a semi-formal dance for individuals in our community with intellectual and physical disabilities. In attendance were 42 guests, their parents and caregivers, more than 20 community volunteers and local photographers Randy Harries, Michelle Erbach and Katiera Hatton who donated their time.

Students from the Pop-Up Club, The Cooperage Project’s free afterschool program for middle schoolers, were heavily involved in the planning and execution of the big event.

Entertainment from Black Ops Sound and Lighting provided dance tunes into the evening. Each guest received a corsage or boutonniere handmade by volunteers, a crown or tiara and a gift bag with personalized gifts and items donated from local businesses. Mick’s Barber Shop and Bodhi Tree Art School and Studio, with stylists from Mane Creations and Utopia Salon, donated a free pampering hour for guests before the event.


Second Saturday: Soul singer Danielle Ponder at The Cooperage Project

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, April 13 at 7:30 p.m., The Cooperage hosts its Second Saturday celebration featuring soul singer Danielle Ponder. The doors will be open at 7 p.m. and this event is open to the public.

A native of Rochester, NY, Danielle Ponder transcends musical genres with compelling and enchanting vocals. She and her band have completed three European tours and continue to perform often in the Northeast region of the United States and Canada.

‘Breaking Legs’ kicks off Lakeside Players’ 20th season

LAKEVILLE, PA — In honor of the Lakeside Players’ 20th anniversary, “Breaking Legs”, by Tom Dulack, will be presented on April 12, 13 and 14 at the Lakeville Community Hall. Friday and Saturday shows will begin at 7:30 p.m. with a Sunday matinee at 3 p.m.

“Breaking Legs” takes place in an Italian restaurant owned by a minor-Mafia-godfather and managed by his beautiful unmarried daughter. When the daughter’s former college professor asks for financial backing for a play he’s written, the fun begins. In this madcap situation, murder and menace are served up with plenty of pasta and laughter.

Arduino Day: Writing code to build electronics

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, April 13 from 9:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Park Street Complex, The Stourbridge Project will celebrate Arduino Day. Arduino is an open-source electronics platform based on easy-to-use hardware and software. Through workshops and seminars, kids and adults can learn how to write code and build electronics. This event brings awareness to all types of technology and aims to educate people of all ages.

Celebrating the Grammy’s: ‘A Prom for All Ages’

MATAMORAS, PA — On Saturday, April 13, TriVersity, the Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity, will host a prom for all ages at the Best Western Inn at Hunts Landing. This evening of celebration will consist of dinner, dancing and live performances. Music will be provided by DJ Brad Keller of Keller Sound Entertainment.
