HONESDALE, PA — The Great Wall of Honesdale is back for 2023, and features the work of 12 artists.

The theme was “Home is—”

The artists are Amy Smith of Newfoundland; Jim Ferraro, Connor Simon, Colleen Campbell, Michael Smith, Corey Rutledge, Gail Mardfin, Amanda Rowe and Amy Smith of Honesdale; Victor Polanco; Diane Motroni; and Siena Davis.

Their original art includes fiber art/improvisational quilt work; digital illustration; photography; colored pencil drawings; and acrylic, watercolor and oil paintings.

The works were digitally reproduced on 11-foot-by-17-foot panels of billboard vinyl and mounted on the side wall of Top Notch Industries at the south end of Main Street.

The panels will be on display for a full year.

The Wayne County Arts Alliance thanked its patrons and sponsors, including the Honesdale Area Jaycees, which again sponsored a panel specifically for a student artist. Congratulations to the 2023 student artist, Siena Davis, 10.

Marguerite Fuller and Phyllis Chekenian, the directors of the Great Wall of Honesdale, thanked the patrons who sponsored the project. They particularly thanked Glenn Khoury of Encore Outdoor Advertising.

The Great Wall of Honesdale is a project of the Wayne County Arts Alliance and is supported by local businesses, which are credited on the website.

It is estimated that 100,000 vehicles per week pass, allowing the occupants to view the Wall.

Details about the many area businesses and individuals who have donated to make the Great Wall of Honesdale possible, as well as the work of past years, are available at www.thegreatwallofhonesdale.com
