EQUINUNK, PA — The Wayne County Community Foundation, the Equinunk Historical Society and the Wayne County Arts Alliance will hold an opening for the first installment of Wayne County’s new Creative Communities Art Trail. It will take place at the Equinunk Historical Society, located at 1972 Pine Mill Rd., from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, September 14.
Light refreshments, a Lenape land blessing ceremony and a display of local art will highlight the afternoon.
The rain-or-shine event is free of charge and open to the public.
The art trail connects Wayne County communities from north to south along PA Route 191 with place-based, locally-designed pieces of outdoor public artwork. This event in Equinunk marks the first of several locations that will be opening over the course of the next few years in the county.
This project was supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency funded by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Additional funding was provided by The Wayne County Community Foundation and the Pocono Mountains Visitors Bureau.
