MONTICELLO, NY — The Sullivan County parks and recreation office invites all to take photos of the landscapes and wildlife at county parks and museums.
“We are accepting submissions now through December 31, 2024—but don’t wait,” said Fiona Feltman, assistant recreation director. “Now’s the time to get out and take beautiful photos of our natural assets. Entries will be judged by a team of jurors selected by our office, and accepted exhibit photos will be announced in January 2025.”
Each photographer can submit up to three pieces, taken by the photographer. Photographers can be any age or skill level, but anyone under age 18 must have parent/guardian permission. Submitted photos might be used in Sullivan County promotional materials.
Photographs must have been taken at the following Sullivan County parks or museums:
The D&H Canal Interpretive Center and Linear Park, Summitville
Fort Delaware Museum of Colonial History, Narrowsburg
Lake Superior State Park: Beach area and dam area, Bethel
Livingston Manor Covered Bridge Park, Livingston Manor
Minisink Battleground Park, Barryville
Stone Arch Bridge Historical Park, Kenoza Lake
Sullivan County Cultural Center, Hurleyville
Photos will be judged on composition, focus, use of light and the artistic presentation of the subject. Prizes will be awarded for Jurors’ Favorite Photo and People’s Choice.
The exhibit will run from March 1-April 30, 2025, at the county government center in Monticello and the Sullivan County Cultural Center & Museum in Hurleyville.
