SUNY Orange Apprentice Players presents ‘Three Sisters’

MIDDLETOWN, NY — On Friday and Saturday the weekends of April 12 and April 19 at 7:30 p.m., with one Sunday performance on April 14 at 3 p.m., Anton Chekhov’s “Three Sisters” will be performed at the William and Helen Richards Theatre at Orange Hall on the Middletown campus of SUNY Orange. Celebrate National Poetry Month during National Library Week

SUNY Sullivan announces two upcoming productions

LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — The SUNY Sullivan Theater Program has announced its third and fourth productions for the 2018-19 Women Playwright’s Season: “The Rover” by Aphra Behn and “Polaroid Stories” by Naomi Iizuka. Both productions will take place in the Seelig Theater from April 11 to 21, Thursdays through Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 2 p.m. “The Rover” will play April 11, 13, 19 and 21, and “Polaroid Stories” will play April 12, 14, 18 and 20. Tickets are a suggested donation of $10 at the door.

A booklover’s bash with Bob Eckstein

HAWLEY, PA — The Hawley Public Library invites best-selling author, humorist and cartoonist Bob Eckstein as the guest speaker for their annual Booklover’s Bash on Saturday, April 13 at 6 p.m. Jazz guitarist Benya Barshai will provide music throughout the evening. HONESDALE, PA —  On Sunday, April 14 at 5 p.m., RiverFolk Concerts and the Cooperage Project are inviting Jacob Johnson back for his neo-acoustic folk/funk musical stylings. A passionate guitarist and storyteller, Johnson weaves his tales through multiple genres, comprised of effortless vocals, complicated chord progressions and strumming, slapping and tapping techniques.

Learning guitar from his grandmother as a kid, he has since become a virtuoso, building an impressive resume within the music scene. He’s toured with the likes of Tommy Emmanuel, Frank Vignola, Edwin McCain, David Wilcox, Zac Brown Band, Victor Wooten, Tim Reynolds, Darryl Worley and  Paula Cole.
