MONTICELLO, NY — At 12:30 a.m., Saturday, August 28, Monticello police were requested by Sullivan County 911 to assist Mobile Medic Ambulance with a report of a male with a leg injury at 36 York Avenue in the Village of Monticello.

Upon the arrival of officers and EMS, it was determined that the male, a 25-year-old Monticello man, had sustained a gunshot wound to the leg. The victim refused to cooperate with investigating officers and was transported to Garnet Health Medical Center in Orange County for medical treatment. The same male had also sustained a gunshot wound to the right shoulder in another incident on June 6, in which he was also was uncooperative with investigating officers. Anyone with information about the incident can call Monticello police in confidence at 845/794-4422.

The Monticello Police Department remains committed to rooting out violent actors in our community, even where those directly victimized refuse to cooperate with law enforcement investigations. We recognize these acts victimize our entire community.
