LOCH SHELDRAKE, NY — On Wednesday, February 12, SUNY Sullivan hosted the annual Sullivan County Indoor Track Championship “Down in the Bunker” at Paul Gerry Fieldhouse.
The event featured thin clads from several area high schools: Eldred, Ellenville, Fallsburg, Monticello, Liberty, Sullivan West and Tri-Valley.
In the boys’ events, the Panthers of Monticello clawed their way to the top, taking first place in seven of the 10 events: 4 x 2 lap (Quentin Cruz, Evan Waterton, Jujan Swasey, Steve Bello), 1000m (Waterton), 55 hurdles (Elijah Rausch), 600m (Bello), 1600m (Waterton), high jump (Javante Stubbs), 4 x 1 lap (Rausch, Daniel Gray, RJ Jaykim).
For the girls, victory went to the Ellenville Blue Devils, picking up gold in 5 out of 11 events: high jump, 1000m, 55m, 600m, 4 x 1 lap.
