‘I hear you’

NARROWSBURG, NY — On Sunday, September 29 at 10:15 a.m., Pat Sanders will present a talk about one of the most valuable communication skills: validation. Whether you’re looking to improve your relationship with your spouse, navigate difficult conversations at work, or connect on a deeper level with friends and family, this talk will cover simple, practical, proven techniques for improving any relationship in your life. The material covered is adapted from the book “I Hear You” by Michael S. Sorensen.

This one-hour service is free and open to the public. It will take place in the new home of the Upper Delaware Universalist Unitarian Fellowshop at the Narrowsburg Union, room 102.

Grief support

HONESDALE, PA — Wayne Memorial Hospital is presenting a six-week grief-support session on Thursday evenings from 6 to 7 p.m. from October 1 through November 5 in conference room 4 on the second floor of the hospital.

Acknowledging that grief is a very individual process, the sessions will encourage participants to explore their own solutions to the challenges of living without their loved ones and dealing with the many changes that follow a loss.

Participants are asked to complete a registration form, which can be found at www.wmh.org. For more information, email ed wardkerb@aol.com or walsha@wmh.org.

Helping students with back-to-school supplies

GOSHEN, NY — Catholic Charities of Orange, Sullivan and Ulster was the grateful beneficiary of a generous donation of new school supplies, including more than 80 backpacks, from Fidelis Care to share with students in need.

Catholic Charities hosts an annual back-to-school supply drive in order to provide students and families in need with supplies to help a child achieve success in school. Donations of new backpacks and school supplies for all ages are still being collected at Catholic Charities office locations in Orange, Sullivan and Ulster counties.
