TOWN OF THOMPSON, NY — At about 7 p.m., on Friday, December 3,  the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 911 report of a robbery on Rose Valley Road.

At the location, deputies interviewed a male victim who advised that he was being driven home when a back seat passenger in the vehicle he was traveling in, threatened him with a gun, robbed him, and kicked him out of the vehicle.

On December 8, after a five-day investigation, deputies arrested Michael A. Moriggia, 40, of Monticello. Moriggia was charged with the felony of Robbery 1st degree and misdemeanor menacing with a weapon in the 2nd degree. He was arraigned before Thompson Town Justice Martin Miller and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $35,000 bail. The defendant is due back in court on January 5, 2022.
