Rest in peace Hollye Schulman

Hello how are you all doing, I hope and pray that you are all happy and healthy.

My heart is broken with the passing of a friend and co-worker Hollye Schulman. I met Hollye back in 2004 when I was running for Tax Collector, and she was running for Town Clerk. Back in the day we worked out of our homes, and Hollye would say just bring it to my house and we can take a look at it. When we moved into the Town Hall she was right on the ball getting everyone set up. Hollye was like the mother of the office.

She keep everything in line. She had a sign over the kitchen sink “Mabel does not work here,” you knew you had to do your own dishes and keep the kitchen tidy. What I am going to miss the most is going into Hollye's office and sitting in the therapy chair, as I called it. Hollye was the type of person who helped you with whatever needed to be done, she just had the knack and the answers. Not a day would go by that we did not have a good laugh. Hol-lye you are truly going to be missed, your stories, your funny wit and laughter, but most of all your friendship. May you be at peace, love ya.

At the town board meeting Supervisor Maas was telling us that The Town of Cochecton is very low with the census enrollment. It's very easy to do and very important for the town. I think he said we are only at 37 percent. All you have to do is go on to the 2020 Census. It's quick and easy. The 2020 Census questionnaire will take about 10 minutes to complete. It's safe, secure, and confidential. Your information and privacy are protected. Your re-sponse helps to direct billions of dollars in federal funds to local communities for schools, roads, and other public services. Results from the 2020 Census will be used to determine the number of seats each state has in Congress and your political representation at all levels of government.

Please follow The New Cochecton Youth Group on facebook for more information on upcoming activities. In the next few weeks they will be posting information on outdoor virtual activities.

Be safe and wash your hands and wear your mask.

Keep smiling and have a great week and you can e-mail me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news. My new deadline is Friday.
