Resorts World Catskills closed along with bars, restaurants, gyms, theaters

MONTICELLO, NY — All casinos in New York State have shut down on an order from Gov. Andrew Cuomo, and that include the largest casino in the state Resorts World Catskills in Monticello.

This statement comes from Resorts World Catskills: “After careful deliberation with New York State officials and our partners at the New York Hotel Trades Council, we have decided to— for the health and safety of our workforce, patrons and community—temporarily close Resorts World Catskills.

“The gaming floor is now under temporary closure. All entertainment scheduled through April 30 has been postponed. All purchased or issued tickets will be honored for the future dates.

“All promotions, special events and free play offers with validity during the closure period have been postponed or canceled. Please check your email or with your VIP host for updates.

“We will continue to closely monitor information from the CDC regarding COVID-19 and follow additional guidance from New York State.”

Governor Andrew Cuomo also orderd the closing of gyms, movie theaters, bars and restaurants, excpet for take-out orders.
