Raising awareness for men’s health this November

NEW YORK STATE — Throughout November, Bold Gold Media New York radio stations, in partnership with Movember, is raising awareness about men’s health.

Through a team called the Bold Gold Mo’s, they are focusing on the importance of both physical and mental well-being.

Movember is dedicated to changing the face of men’s health by raising awareness and funds for initiatives that support research into prostate and testicular cancer, and into mental health care and suicide prevention. By encouraging communities to participate in creative and impactful ways, Movember helps spark important conversations and drives support for vital health programs.

There are four ways to participate:

  1. Grow a Mo—Show your support by growing a mustache, just like Eddie Wilson, heard weekday mornings on 95.9 VOS-FM.
  2. Move for mental health—Participate in physical activities for mental wellness. Jenn from the Midday Mix on 98.3 WSUL is walking 60 miles this month, representing the 60 men who die by suicide every hour.
  3. Host a Mo-ment—Create moments of engagement and awareness, as Paul Ciliberto of Ciliberto & Friends on Catskills News Talk 92.5 & 95.9 did with a celebrity pickleball tournament in Bethel. It featured comedian Rich Kiamco, District Attorney Brian Conaty, Bethel town supervisor Dan Sturm, Sen. Peter Oberacker, Jonathan Charles Fox from the River Reporter, Mike Martucci from Mid-Hudson News and more.
  4. Mo your own way—Take unique actions to support men’s health. Therese from the Morning Rumble on Thunder 102 is a dedicated MO Sister, reminding the men in her life to schedule their annual checkups.

“I am so proud of our local Bold Gold radio personalities, and grateful to our sponsors, for taking on this initiative as a team to help raise awareness for men’s mental and physical health. This is another great example of how local radio can rally a community behind an amazing cause,” said Dawn Ciorciari, general manager of Bold Gold New York.
