I hope you are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day this week with good food, friends and family! There are so many activities that are happening locally; be sure to take part in a few. Here are just a few events in case you missed them in a previous column.

Lakeview Pizza & Bar in Lake Huntington will be hosting their annual Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner on Thursday, March 17, starting at 4:30 pm. Dine-in and take-out are available. Call ahead to make a reservation, 845/932-8131.

On Saturday, March 19, the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade in Jeffersonville, NY, will take place. There will be a pancake breakfast at St. George's Church; it begins at 8 a.m.

The parade lineup is at 12 noon on Willy Avenue. The parade begins at 1 p.m. After the parade, stop by the Winkelried Biergarten on Main Street for a fun party. Butch and the Elevaters will play live. There will be Irish food, drinks and a doggie parade and costume contest.

Mark your calendars for these great events coming soon:

The Lake Huntington Ladies Aid Society is planning a penny social. The tentative date is April 30.

The Cochecton Youth Group is getting its build on! Join us at the Cochecton town hall on April 29 at 6:30 p.m. to build Lego together. Each Cochecton Youth will be able to take their project home. In-person sign-ups will be at the Cochecton town hall on April 5 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Note that children will receive a Lego kit like the one they pick at sign-up. Contact Michelle at 570/419-8801 for questions. The programs are funded in full or in part by the Sullivan County Youth Bureau.

Join the Easter Bunny and the Cochecton’s Men Club at the annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. at the Cochecton men’s sports complex.

New restaurant alert! The Old Foundation, formerly the historic Stone Arch Inn, is a restaurant and bar located at 5371 State Rte. 52 in Kenoza Lake, NY. They are currently open Fridays and Saturdays, 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. for dining and the bar stays open late. They are also looking to hire in various positions.
