Essential oil extravaganza

HONESDALE, PA — On Saturday, June 29 at 11 a.m., The Cooperage will present an educational experience about how to use essential oils to support family-fun summer activities while improving your health and wellbeing. Participants will cook with oils, create scented play dough and enjoy oil-infused snacks.

The workshop costs $5 per person or $10 per family and is led by Helen Mele Robinson and Eileen Reiman.

‘Flipping Broadway’

HONESDALE, PA — On Sunday, June 30, The Cooperage is hosting the Pocono Mountains Theater Company as they perform Broadway in a new way. Kara Snyder will sing songs written for men, and Ken McMullen will lead songs written for women. The evening will include music from “Funny Girl,” “Hamilton,” “Wicked,” “Little Me,” “Mame” and  “Sweeny Todd.”

The art of keeping a travel journal

NARROWSBURG, NY — On Saturday, June 29 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Gloria Kraus room of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance (DVAA), artist, teacher and traveler Dale Emmart will present a journaling workshop with a focus on travel. The workshop will begin with a presentation and progress to experiments with materials, using Narrowsburg as the “destination.”

Light refreshments will be served and a variety of materials will be provided. Suggested donation is $50. Reservations are not required but appreciated. Call the DVAA at 845/252-7576 for more information.

NPR-featured artists to play Rafter’s Tavern

CALLICOON, NY — On Friday, June 28 from 7 to 8:30 p.m., 2019 NPR-featured artists JANTURAN, Ramona Jan and Andre Turan, will perform at Rafter’s Tavern.

Singer-songwriter Ramona Jan has worked with Talking Heads, The Ramones, Lou Reed and Brian Eno. Lead singer Andre Turan has performed and worked with guitarist Zoltan Bathory of Five Finger Death Punch.

Wildlife photographer and eagle expert

WURTSBORO, NY — The Wurtsboro Art Alliance, to coincide with its Basha Kill Exhibition, is hosting an event on Saturday, June 29 at 5 p.m. with WAA member, wildlife photographer and eagle expert Gene Weinstein. He will present his collection of photographs of the eagles taken in and around Sullivan County, followed by a Q&A session. This event is free and light refreshments will be served.
