Pike County Sentencing Information: July 1

Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

Kiara Dimond Spriggs, age 22, of Binghamton, NY, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000.00 and had her driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance.  While at a crash scene along I-84 in Blooming Grove Township on March 16, 2020, the state police observed Spriggs nearly strike the tow truck operator with her vehicle.  When Spriggs was stopped, the trooper detected the smell of Marihuana.  Field Sobriety Tests were conducted which showed impairment and a blood test confirmed the presence of Marihuana in her blood.

Jarret A. Butler, age 38, of East Stroudsburg, PA, was sentenced to 1 year of probation and fined $300.00 for the crime of Recklessly Endangering Another Person.  During a domestic dispute taking place in Butler’s vehicle parked along Bushkill Falls Road in Lehman Township on April 26, 2020, Butler’s vehicle was knocked into gear, lurching the vehicle forward injuring a child standing next to the vehicle. 

Lori Robyn Possinger, age 49, of Stroudsburg, PA, was sentenced to 18 months of probation and fined $500.00 for the crimes of Prostitution and Related Offenses and Unlawful Use of Audio/Video Device in Court.  Possinger managed a prostitution business at a location in Blooming Grove Township between August 13, 2018 and June 18, 2019. On September 24, 2019, Possinger used her cell phone to capture a photograph of a law enforcement officer at the magistrate’s office in Palmyra Township, without the officer’s permission, nor the judge’s permission.

Delray Bradley Wood, age 35, of Hawley, PA, was sentenced to 5 years and 6 months of the Pike Care Program which will include 93 days of house arrest, a fine of $2,500.00 and a driver’s license suspension of 30 months for 2 counts of the crime of Driving Under the Influence.  The state police were dispatched to Hemlock Farms Road in Blooming Grove Township on June 3, 2020, where Public Safety had witnessed Wood driving erratically on two flat tires.  The trooper observed Wood to have glassy, bloodshot eyes and emitting the smell of an alcoholic beverage.  Wood admitted to drinking prior to driving.  Field Sobriety Tests displayed signs of impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .325%.  On June 16, 2020, the state police observed wood speeding and weaving through traffic on I-84 in Dingman Township.  While speaking with Wood, the trooper detected the smell of an alcoholic beverage and observed Wood to have bloodshot eyes.  Wood admitted to drinking earlier.  Field Sobriety Tests demonstrated impairment and a breath test confirmed a blood alcohol content of .215%.

Kevin A. Christ, age 59, of Greentown, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000.00 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or a Controlled Substance.  The state police stopped Christ on February 5, 2020, while traveling along SR 390 in Palmyra Township for no registration.  When contact was made with Christ, the trooper detected the smell of Marihuana and an alcoholic beverage and observed Christ to have bloodshot, glassy eyes.  Christ admitted to drinking prior to driving and possessing a Marihuana pipe.  Field Sobriety Tests showed impairment and a blood test confirmed the presence of THC in his blood.

Kristian Pariseau, age 38, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 72 hours to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, followed by 12 months of probation, a fine of $1,550.00 and driver’s license suspension for a duration to be determined by PennDOT for the crimes of Simple Assault, Driving Under the Influence and Driving While Operating Privilege is Suspended or Revoked.  Pariseau ran his vehicle into the back of another vehicle stopped for traffic along Mill Street in Milford Borough on November 9, 2020.  When the other driver told Pariseau he was calling the police to report the accident, Pariseau punched the driver in the head and face.  Field Sobriety Tests were conducted by the Milford Police which indicated Pariseau was impaired.  Pariseau refused to submit to a breath test.  Pariseau was found to be driving on a suspended license.

Robert Donald Abbott, age 59, of Milford, PA, was sentenced to 59 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and a fine of $1,100.00 for the crimes of Sexual Intercourse with an Animal, and 2 counts of the Summary Offense of Cruelty to Animals.  On April 13, 2021, Abbott engaged in oral sexual intercourse with a dog for the purpose of his own arousal and sexual gratification which constitutes an abuse of an animal.

Malik Benjamin Jones, age 29, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 1 month to 18 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500.00 for the crime of Burglary.  Jones pryed open a window of a residence in Lehman Township on March 21, 2016, and took $2,500.00 in personal property which included diamond earrings and a 60 inch television.
