Pike County Sentencing

MILFORD, PA — Pike County District Attorney Raymond J. Tonkin announced the following criminal sentences were issued by Pike County Court of Common Pleas President Judge Gregory Chelak:

Tyler James Ford, age 27, of Mill Rift, PA, was sentenced to 8 days to 18 months in the Pike County Jail and a fine of $300 for the crime of Theft.  Eastern Pike Regional Police responded to a canoe landing in Westfall Township where Ford had taken possession of a kayak valued at approximately $700 from a Westfall Township canoe livery on June 23, 2020, without the owner’s permission.

Crystal Marie Rodino, age 37, of Birdsboro, PA, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and a fine of $1,000 for the crime of Unsworn Falsification to Authorities.  When completing an application to purchase a 9mm pistol at a business in Blooming Grove Township on October 16, 2020, Rodino failed to disclose on the ATF form that she had been convicted of a crime punishable by at least one year.

Lois Cheryl Gilpin, age 77, of Sterling, PA, was sentenced to 12 months of probation and fined $500 for the crime of Theft.  While employed at a business in Greene Township, Gilpin took items with a total value of $1,120.17 between September 15, 2022, and December 1, 2022, without the permission of her employer.

Kirsten Monique Bucknam, age 26, of Pittston, PA, was sentenced to 3 months to 23 ½ months in the Pike County Jail and fined $1,200 for 6 counts of the crime of Theft.  Bucknam took items of mail from mailboxes located at several residences in various townships between July 22, 2022, and August 10, 2022. 

Christopher M. Campea, age 49, Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 2 years of probation and fined $500 for the crime of Simple Assault.  The state police responded to a residence in Lehman Township where, during a domestic dispute, Campea punched an individual and threw the individual against a wall on May 2, 2022.

Paul Francis Vermac, age 43, of Moosic, PA, was sentenced to 30 days to 6 months in the Pike County Jail, fined $1,000 and had his driver’s license suspended for 12 months for the crime of Driving Under the Influence of a Controlled Substance.  The state police observed Vermac operate his vehicle across the fog line several times along I-84 in Palmyra Township on April 12, 2022.  Vermac displayed a nervous and anxious behavior and was observed to have bloodshot, glossy eyes with constricted pupils.  Items of paraphernalia were found during a consent to search.  Vermac admitted to consuming controlled substances during the days prior to the stop.  Field Sobriety Tests indicated impairment.  Vermac refused to submit to a chemical test.

Joseph A. Lebron, age 54, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 3 months to 23 months in the Pike County Jail and a fine of $1,500 for the crime of Criminal Conspiracy to Commit Delivery of a Controlled or Counterfeit Substance.  Lebron conspired with another individual at a residence in Lehman Township to sell 2 grams of Cocaine on June 17, 2022.

Daryl Leon Newkirk, age 21, presently housed in the Pike County Correctional Facility, was sentenced to 36 months to 144 months in a state correctional facility and a fine of $1,500 for 2 counts of the crime of Aggravated Harassment by a Prisoner, and the crime of Terroristic Threats.  Newkirk spit on the face and chest of a Pike County Correctional Facility employee on October 27, 2022.  Then on January 11, 2023, Newkirk threatened to stab a correctional officer with a self-made edged weapon which he possessed while an inmate at the Pike County Correctional Facility. On January 30, 2023, Newkirk struck a correctional officer with a closed fist causing an injury while an inmate at the Pike County Correctional Facility.

Mary L. Farber, age 53, of East Stroudsburg, PA, was sentenced to 2 years of probation and a fine of $800 for the crimes of Criminal Trespass and Possession of a Controlled Substance.  The state police responded to a residence in Delaware Township on November 28, 2022, where Farber had gained entry into a residence without the property owner’s permission.  Farber was found in possession of Morphine.

Salvatore Palmieri, age 64, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 124 days to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $500 for the crime of Simple Assault.  The state police were dispatched to a disturbance on Mallard Lane in Lehman Township where Palmieri struck an individual in the back of the head causing injury on July 6, 2021.

Robert B. Silas, age 35, of Bushkill, PA, was sentenced to 1 month to 12 months in the Pike County Jail and fined $300 for the crime of Theft.  While residing at a residence in Lehman Township, Silas took items with a value of $350 without the permission of the property owners.

Ana M. Kenah, age 38, of Lackawaxen, PA, was sentenced to 18 months to 4 years in a state correctional facility and fined $2,525 for 2 counts of the crime of Aggravated Assault by Vehicle, 1 count of Accidents Involving Damage to Attended Vehicle or Property and the Summary Offense of Driving Vehicle at Safe Speed.  The state police responded to SR 590 in Lackawaxen Township on March 19, 2019, where Kenah had driven at excessive speed and collided with a vehicle that had just been involved in a crash, contributing additional serious injuries to the two occupants of the vehicle already sustained.  Kenah then proceeded to leave the scene of the accident.
