Karin Meyer, 91, passed away on Sunday, August 21, 2022 at the home of her son Thomas in Palmyra, NY.

Karin was born December 22, 1930 in Elmshorn, Germany. She came to the United States in 1952 to live with her aunt in Callicoon, NY. In April 1956, she married her husband Albert Meyer. They remained happily married until his death in November 2006.

Karin was well known in Callicoon for her excellent knitting and seamstress skills. There are so many happy babies and warm hands, extending far beyond Callicoon, thanks to the beautiful baby sweaters and mittens that she would knit. She was also the one who many of the townspeople came to for mending and alterations for their clothing.

Karin was well known for her baking, too. So many people enjoyed her cookies, cakes and delicious cream puffs. She was always baking for her friends and neighbors. Karin was a good friend to many in Callicoon, having lived there over 60 years, until she moved in with her son in April 2021.

Karin was predeceased by her husband, Albert (Al) Meyer and her brother Zigfried (Ziggy) Kelting. She is survived by three sons: Thomas Meyer (Susan), Palmyra, NY; Eric Meyer (Linda Lester), San Antonio, TX; Steven Meyer (Denise), Azle, TX; by four grandsons: Karl Meyer (Jessica), Alan Meyer, Tim Meyer (Courtney) and Joseph Meyer; and by six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Antje Hellwig (Robert), Oakland, NJ; brother Karl Kelting (Kathleen); brother-in-law James Meyer (Rosemarie); sister-in-law Kathleen Maas, and by numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Friday, October 14 at 11 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Callicoon. Interment will follow for immediate family only. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Delaware Youth Center, P.O. Box 354, Callicoon, NY 12723. To leave a condolence, visit stewart
