Joseph Maurizzio Jr. (Joey Jr.) of Narrowsburg, NY, entered eternal rest on Sunday, November 13, 2022. He was 80 years old.

He is survived by his loving wife, Jennifer Noteboom Maurizzio; two sons Donald and Anthony Maurizzio; his two daughters Tami and Allen Crance, and Vicki and Joey Moran. He is also survived by his first wife, Barbara Maurizzio. He is also survived by his grandchildren Vanessa Maurizzio, Julie and Ryan Schauer, Taylor Maurizzio, Rebecca Crance and Justin Andrade, Seth Maurizzio, Vienna Moran, Kelsie Maurizzio, Sierra Moran, Braden Moran, Toni-Ann and Tianna Maurizzio; as well as two great-grandchildren, Liam and Adelynn Schauer. He is also survived by his three brothers Louis and Angel Maurizzio, Frank and Sue Maurizzio and Vito and Amy Maurizzio. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Dorothy Maurizzio Sr., and his sister Patricia Dale Maurizzio.

Joseph proudly served in the United States Coast Guard from 1960-1964. He retired from NYS Corrections after 25 years of service, finishing out his career as a vocational instructor. He shared his knowledge of trade selflessly with family and friends, always willing to lend a hand.

Joseph was a loving husband, and a caring and devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is also a beloved brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Some of his greatest joys were time spent with his wife on their many motorcycle adventures, and watching his children grow and raise families of their own. He was very involved and close with all his grandchildren. They will fondly remember him for all his wisdom, unconditional love and support. His sense of humor and wit could light up a room! When his granddaughters would argue, he would settle it for them by saying, “I’m still the prettiest!”

A celebration of his life was held on November 20 at the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home. The funeral service followed.

In lieu of flowers, donate in Joseph’s name to Narrowsburg Food Kitchen, P.O. Box 54, Narrowsburg, NY 12764.

Arrangement by the Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville, NY 845/557-8010.
