NATIONWIDE — An animated intergalactic student crossed the cosmos in a spaceship to learn about Earth—and along with a helpful NOAA scientist, offers a new way for students to learn about and appreciate the science of the planet.

“Teek and Tom Explore Planet Earth” introduces a range of scientific topics, including the difference between weather and climate, wild weather extremes and how NOAA uses high-tech tools to gather data and information to better understand our planet.

The five-part series is meant for children and science enthusiasts of all ages, and aligns to Next Generation Science Standards for fourth, fifth and sixth grades.

The five “Teek and Tom Explore Planet Earth” videos can be viewed at www.oceantoday.noaa.gov.
