Sullivan County Chamber of Commerce celebrates National Bagel Day

MONTICELLO, NY — It’s almost National Bagel Day!

The holiday—sadly not graced with a day off—takes place on Sunday, January 15.

But even if you have to work, you can still mark the important day by buying a bagel or 12 at one of the area’s many fine bagel establishments. Then indulge in bagel-related art (see, for instance,  this Pinterest bagel-art board), be amused by bagel humor sites (e.g. this bagel-jokes site) and learn about bagel history (this bagel-history page).

And don’t forget these local bagel-related activities, courtesy of the Chamber

Join the Chamber and Paul Ciliberto from Bold Gold Media at 11 a.m. at Grizzly Bagels in Callicoon, NY or at the Monticello Bagel Bakery at 1 p.m.

Then:

Have a bagel at every meal

Take this day as an opportunity to appreciate the versatility of the bagel, and feel free to use it as an excuse to try as many flavors as you would like!

Share the bagel love

What office, classroom, or group of friends doesn't love bagels? Scope out your local bagel shops for exclusive National Bagel Day deals and spring for a dozen delicious bagels to share.

And then there’s the Bagel Festival

It’s not till Sunday, August 13, but if you want a vendor’s table, registration is opening now. (And the cost of a table goes up on Monday, March 13.)

Sign up online at www.thebagelfestival.org or call the Chamber at 845/791-4200.
