WAYNE, PA — A.G. Howell, Wayne County District Attorney, announced that Joseph Christopher Krombel, age 24, entered a no-contest plea for sexually assaulting three minor children, all under the age of 12 and younger at the time of the crimes.

Krombel admitted he has no defense to contest the charges of aggravated indecent assault of a child and corruption of minors.

Just before a jury trial to begin on May 16, Krombel admitted before  Honorable President Judge Janine Edwards that he is not contesting the molestation of the three minor children between January 1, 2017, and August 2020.

The children revealed Krombel’s assault after being removed from the residence on another matter.

President Judge Janine Edwards set a sentencing date of August 18, 2022,  after an assessment by the Pennsylvania Sexual Offenders Assessment Board (“SOAB”).

The SOAB evaluates certain convicted sex offenders to assist the Court in determining whether the offender meets the legal criteria for classification as a Sexually Violent Predator (SVP).

Krombel faces up to 45 years in prison.
