Homocide suspect taken into custody

LONG EDDY, NY — The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) announces that Nikolas Petrich has been taken into custody in Long Eddy by the New York State Police. During the execution of a search warrant in Towanda, PA yesterday, March 22, 2023, Petrich was not located. Petrich was wanted for his involvement in the homicide of Tyler Barber who went missing in September of 2022 and his remains were discovered on Game Lands in November of 2022.

The Pennsylvania State Police would like to thank the New York State Police for their cooperation in the apprehension of Petrich. Petrich is in a New York jail awaiting extradition to Pennsylvania to be arraigned on charges relating to the Barber homicide.
