New topic of conversation these days

Hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day. Let me update you on my COVID-19 vaccine: My arm was sore for a week. It’s still itchy. Still, it was nothing like the first shot. I have to say, I do feel safer knowing that I got the shots. My sister got hers and found a place at the end of Staten Island to get it for my younger brother, the drag queen. My oldest brother is trying to get it—he is the one who had COVID-19 bad—and my other brother, Teddy, who lives up here, is getting it. It’s funny when you talk to someone, it’s like: “Did you get the shot? I did.” The new topic of conversation these days.

Join the Cochecton Youth Commission (CYC) for its spring Easter basket event. Each basket will be put together to fit the age of each participant. (Please note, they have fantastic ideas for ages up through 18; no one is too young or too old for this event.) The spring baskets will be available to pick up at the lower level of the Cochecton Town Hall on Tuesday, March 23 between 6:30 and 7 p.m. To sign up, email cochectonyouth@gmail.com. Once they receive your form via email, they will send you a confirmation email that it has been received. The last day we can accept sign up sheets is midnight on Thursday, February 18. If you have any questions, call or text Sue @ 845/866-0853. As always, this is free for Cochecton youth. Follow CYC on Facebook at New Cochecton Youth Commission.

Save the date for these two different corned beef and cabbage dinners: Saturday, March 13 starting at 4:30 p.m. at Lakeview Pizza & Bar in Lake Huntington, NY; and Sunday, March 21 starting at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Church on Rte. 97, Callicoon, NY.

It’s 2021 tax season. You can always send me an email at taxcollector@townofcochecton.ny.org, I will get back to you with an appointment.  If the weather is bad, call 845/932-8360 ext. 17. If you would like to pay online (full payments only) visit www.webtownhall.com/onlinepaymentportalcochectonny/Home.aspx.

Wash your hands and, please, wear a mask. Have a great week. You can email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news.
