Narrowsburg

As the base of The River Reporter, we suggest you dedicate significant time to the hamlet that is our home. Located along the narrowest and deepest part of the river (hence, the name), Narrowsburg features great art, great food and, ahem, great writing. The beauty around town is courtesy of the Narrowsburg Beautification Group; Saturday Farmer’s Market courtesy of local farmers; youngins tending to the community garden courtesy of the Tusten library and friendly atmosphere courtesy of the locals and Main Street shop owners.

“One of my favorite things about the Upper Delaware are the Farmers’ Markets, especially Callicoon and Narrowsburg,” said TRR’s Barbara Winfield. “Not only are they great places to shop for fresh fruits, vegetables, baked goods and dairy products, but the markets also offer an opportunity to run into friends and neighbors. Farmers markets are a true community gathering place—the best combination of food and friends.”

Salesperson Eileen Hennessy suggests checking out the Lander’s Narrowsburg Campground, Nora’s Ice Cream, and the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance. TRR Publisher Laurie Stuart says if you need a commercial kitchen, a co-working space, a terrific copy shop, local goods, or to rent an event space, there’s always something happening at the Narrowsburg Union, the former Narrowsburg Central School in creative reuse. Elizabeth Lepro, a reporter, suggests watching the sunset from the park under the bridge at the end of Main Street. Of course, you can always come by The River Reporter and say hi, too.
