I admit to some compassion for Marc Molinaro, our 19th CD congressman. The poor guy supports and is fully supported by the strange couple heading up the GOP ticket for the White House. Marc’s record as an enthusiastic MAGA warrior would suggest that he believes, with Trump and J.D. Vance, that Kamala Harris only recently became black, that step-parents and women without children (cat women?) are a burden to society and that price-gouging corporations need more big tax breaks.
Does Mr. Molinaro also share his leaders’ desire to eliminate the national weather service and farm subsidies? We don’t know because he’s not talking but, given that Marc actually voted against making refrigerators more energy-efficient—I kid you not!—it seems highly likely that he would hold these odd, way-out-of-the-mainstream positions.
Marc Molinaro has painted himself as a bipartisan moderate but given his faithful support for the MAGA caucus’ radical right agenda and for Donald Trump and J.D. Vance atop the GOP November ticket, the term “moderate” seems weird.
