The Transport Workers Union of America (TWU), representing over 150,000 workers across the airline and railroad sectors as well as transit, university, utility and service sectors, has endorsed Congressman Marc Molinaro for reelection in New York’s 19th Congressional District. Molinaro now has 19 total endorsements from union organizations.
Molinaro authored and got a bill signed into law that creates a global safety standard for American aircraft repairs and removes the incentive to offshore aircraft maintenance jobs. He also bucked his own party to stop deep cuts to Amtrak and its workforce.
“Marc has been one of our greatest allies in Congress, and we are looking forward to continuing to work with him,” John Samuelsen, president of TWU, said. “We have worked closely with him on transit, rail and air issues over the course of his term. On every issue our members care deeply about, Marc has taken the time to understand our concerns and ensure working people are the top priority of our government.”
“Transport workers quite literally keep us moving and drive our economy forward,” Molinaro said. “We recognize and thank them for their work, and will continue fighting every day for the safety, security and dignity of every transport worker.”
