Margaret Branning, 94, of Beach Lake, PA, passed peacefully into the arms of her Loving God and Savior surrounded by family on January 4, 2020, after succumbing to injuries resulting from an automobile accident on December 26, 2019.

Margaret loved God, family, friends and life in general. She and her beloved husband Allen shared 72 years of wedded bliss. She will be sadly missed, but happily remembered.

Margaret was an RN for 39 years at Callicoon Hospital in Callicoon, NY. (She joined the Army Nurse Corps during her training at St. Joseph’s.)

She enjoyed stepping out with Allen for a good old-fashioned square dance on Saturday nights, going to church, group camping, playing cards (hand and foot), listening to Johnny Cash, reading Danielle Steel novels, watching murder mysteries, eating her sweets, going to watch grandkids and great-grandchildren play ball, driving “Wolfie” (UTV), relaxing on the couch with “Kitty” (her cherished cat) and quiet evenings sitting by the pond, but mostly just being with family, wherever that took her.

She was a member of Delaware Valley Grange #1564, Labor Grange #1063, Pomona Grange, State Grange and National Grange; Beach Lake United Methodist Church; PA Lamplighters Camping Club; and ACE Snowmobile Club.

She was predeceased by her parents, Vincent and Wilma Gillow of Lookout, PA, her brother Edward, and sister-in-law Marcena Tompkins.

She leaves behind two children, Terry and his wife, Donna (Bates) Branning, of Beach Lake, PA and Sally Ann and husband, Robert Roche, of Honesdale, PA; grandchildren T.J. and his wife, Christine (Martin) Branning, Chad Branning, Mike and his wife, Allecia (Rickard) Roche, and Jamie (Roche) and husband Kris Knecht; great grandchildren Zach, Aviana, Raegan Branning; Aaron, Anna and Avery Branning; Korilyn, Greyson and Carver Roche; Wilson Knecht; and her brother Albert, his wife Flo and her sisters-in-law Dale Gillow, Alice Druschen and Evelyn Budd.

A service and celebration of her life will be held at the Beach Lake United Methodist Church in the spring. Arrangements are being made by Harrison Rasmussen Funeral Home, Barryville, NY 845/557-8010.
