HONESDALE, PA — District Attorney Patrick Robinson announced the arrest of Michael Mowry, 41, of Beach Lake on Wednesday, July 24. Mowry has been charged with terroristic threats causing serious public inconvenience and bomb threats.

According to a Honesdale Borough Police report, a 911 center received an anonymous bomb threat Wednesday morning. “I have placed bombs around Honesdale, especially in the hospital area,” the caller said.

According to the police report, “The dispatchers were able to ‘ping’ the phone which resulted in a phone number previously used by Michael Mowry.”

Members of the Honesdale police, Wayne County Sheriff’s Department and Wayne County Detectives conducted an intensive, 50-minute manhunt resulting in the apprehension of Mowry at 11:50 a.m.

Robinson stated in a press release, "It appears that there were no actual bombs."

Magisterial Judge Linus Myers set bail at $25,000. The preliminary hearing is scheduled for Wednesday, July 31.
