DAMASCUS TOWNSHIP, PA — The Foster Supply Company, which is owned by Sims and Kirsten Harlow Foster, is in contract to purchase the building formerly known as the Methodist Nursing Home located in Damascus Township, just across the Upper Delaware River from Narrowsburg, NY. The building was later known as Wayne Delaware Manor and operated as a personal-care facility by Wayne Memorial Health System when the operation was shuttered in 2013.
Sims said he has applied to the Damascus Township Planning Commission to operate the facility as a hotel. He said the building has 28 rooms, and he does not plan to change the footprint of the building.
Foster Supply has purchased and renovated a number of inns and restaurants in recent years. The properties include the Arnold House Tavern in Livingston Manor, The Bar Room & Restaurant at The North Branch Inn, The Dining Room and Club Room at the DeBruce Inn, The Cabin at Hessinger-Lare near Youngsville, and Piccolo Paese Ristorante Italiano in Liberty.
The sale is being negotiated by Davis R. Chant Realtors, Honesdale, PA.
