LIVINGSTON MANOR, NY — The New York State Police at Liberty arrested Ollen Eck III, 38, from Livingston Manor for second-degree robbery and second-degree attempted robbery.
The arrest was the result of an investigation into incidents at two Livingston Manor businesses: the robbery of the Sunoco Gas Station on March 16 and the attempted robbery of the Dollar General on March 18. The crime spree caused Sullivan West to hold a lockout to protect the school campus.
Eck was arrested in the Town of Thompson on April 9. He was arraigned before Judge Feinberg in the Town of Rockland and remanded to the Sullivan County Jail. The New York State Police was assisted by the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office and the Village of Monticello Police Department.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New York State Police 845-292-6600.
In prior incidents, Eck was arrested in February 2014 following an investigation into the December 20, 2013, burglary of a room at the Heritage Inn on Broadway in the Village of Monticello.
He was arrested in August 2016 for shoplifting at a Wegmans in Broome County and charged with forgery, petit larceny, criminal impersonation, making a false written statement, and obstructing governmental administration.
On December 15, 2020, he was arrested for violating the conditions of his parole.
