Hello March! They say it comes in like a lion and out like a lamb. Well, that certainly seems to be the case this year. Personally, I would love a few more spring-like temperatures.

Congratulations to the newest Cochecton Ambulance Corps EMT student, Lt. Brian Heinle! You’ve taken a big step in expanding your volunteerism in the field of emergency medical services. Your dedication to learning and helping others in their time of need is second to none.

As you begin your journey as an EMT student, know that you are embarking on a rewarding and challenging path. You will learn skills that will enable you to make a significant difference in the lives of our mighty Cochecton community. You will also gain valuable knowledge and experience that will serve you well throughout your career.

We wish you all the best in your studies and training. Your commitment to becoming an EMT is a true testament to your character and desire to help others. Keep up the excellent work, and we look forward to seeing you succeed.

Due to St. Patrick’s Day being on a Friday, and as it’s Lent, Lakeview Pizza & Bar in Lake Huntington, NY will host its Corned Beef & Cabbage dinner on Saturday, March 18. Serving will start at 4:30 p.m., and end when they run out. Eat-in or take-out is available. For more info or reservations, contact Lakeview Pizza & Bar at 845/932-8131. Come out, enjoy and show your true Irish pride.

Support Boy Scout Troop 1717 with a spaghetti dinner on Sunday, March 12 at the White Sulphur Springs Fire Department. Dine-in or take-out, the cost is $15 per dinner. Call 845/292-2683 for more information.

Support a local business! Henning’s Local is in the space upstairs from the historic Heinle’s General Store in Cochecton Center, NY, and “has earned rave reviews for its surprising middle-of-nowhere culinary prowess.” (Forbes)

Henning has built long-term relationships with regional sustainable agricultural practices and businesses, including farms, bakeries, wineries, distilleries and various culinary artisans throughout the Catskills and Hudson Valley.

It recently celebrated its 11th year, but Henning’s Local would not be possible without the ongoing support of its customers. The restaurant thanks you all. It currently offers limited seating, so reservations are encouraged. Call for reservations at 845/252-3008.

If you have a local business that you would like to have spotlighted in an upcoming column, get in touch. Email jenn@jennpowelldesigns.com with any news, events and happenings.
