Tax Season is coming to an end! March 31 is the last day to pay taxes before they are turned over to the Sullivan County Treasurer’s Office: 845/807-0200. During the month of March, I will be in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 4 to 7 p.m. For those who haven't made a payment, you should have received, or will be receiving, a reminder that was mailed out on Tuesday, March 5. I check my email every day (taxcollector@townofcochectonny.com). If you have any questions, you can always visit www.taxlookup.net.

Saturday, March 16, the Lakeview Pizzeria & Bar will be hosting a St. Patrick’s Day corned beef and cabbage dinner from 4 to 8 p.m. For more info, call 845/932-8131.

On Sunday, March 17, the Knights of Columbus St. Patrick’s Day lunch will take place after mass at 1 p.m. at the Holy Cross Church in Callicoon. For more info, call GK Teddy 845/252-3630.

The Cochecton Youth Commission has an opening on their board. If you are interested, send Sue Rodrigues a text or a call at 845/866-0853. Please follow CYC on Facebook for upcoming events.

Update from Lake Association Members: Thank you for your continued support as we battle the lake algae.  Remember, we all have a stake in the water quality of the lake and it’s to all of our benefit that we find and fix the problem. Our kids, grandkids and all our families use the lake and we want to make it safe for years to come. In a few weeks, we will be sending out a letter asking for your 2019 dues. The dues will remain at $100. Without the yearly dues, our involvement in programs, like the one at SUNY Sullivan, would not be possible. Every dollar will help us get closer to a solution.

Thank you, Michael F. Popolillo, president of the Lake Huntington Lake Association.

Saturday, April 6, Lake Huntington Presbyterian Church will have their penny social. Donation for admission is $1. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. Hotdogs, water and soda will be available for purchase followed by free coffee and cake after the 12:30 noon calling. Donations, lightly used or new, are needed. Please call Vicky Krauss at 845/932-8923.

Keep smiling and have a great week. You can email me at leeniebeans@citlink.net or call 845/252-3568 if you have any news. You can always check me out at www.riverreporter.com in Community Living.
