I would like to thank Tom and Cecilia Coacci for putting together a wonderful ‘50s-themed dance in the Narrowsburg Union on Saturday night.  Everyone in the town chipped in to make it a great success. The food, donated by the Heron, the Launderette and the Tusten Cup, was so good. The desserts looked so yummy, but, I was good. I only ate half a piece of banana frosted cake. I love being out and about, catching up with people like Judge Bob Meyers and his pretty wife Kathy. The band got everyone dancing. I did the twist, I rocked around the clock, and then I had to do my inhaler. My cough was border-line walking pneumonia, but I am feeling so much better. The morning after, I woke up at 8 a.m. and my hips reminded me that I am no spring chicken anymore. I took two ibuprofens and went back to bed till noon.

The elephant is on the lake! If you want to try guessing when the elephant will break through the ice, give Ed Grund a call at 845/252-7363 to get an entry form. For $5, you’ll guess three dates and times that you think the pachyderm will go  for a swim. If you guess the right day and time, you’ll win half the money.

Join the Tusten-Cochecton Library in Narrowsburg on Monday, March 11 from 5 to 6 p.m. for their new teen program: DIY Project Day. After the project is done, you will determine next month’s project. For more information, call 845/252-3360.

Here’s an important note about paying your taxes online: you must pay the amount that includes the penalty. If you pay the January amount, I cannot take it and you lose the site fee. I will be in the office on Tuesday and Wednesday from 4–7 p.m. and by appointment. When weather is bad, you should call first, because I will not be in: 845/932-8360 X 17. Credit card payments go to  www.bit.ly/taxnyTRR. The credit carriers charge a 3% fee on each transaction. You may obtain a duplicate tax bill/receipt or check the status of your payment via www.taxlookup.net.
