Final results still undetermined

REGION — In the Republican primary for Sullivan County District Attorney, Frank LaBuda leads with 760 votes according to the county Board of Elections. Meagan Galligan has 713. If LaBuda wins, he’ll face Galligan again in November.

Kyle Van De Water is ahead in Sullivan County’s Republican primary for the 19th Congressional District with 665 votes to Ola Hawatmeh’s 612. But districtwide, Hawatmeh is ahead by 475 votes. The winner goes on to contest incumbent Democrat Antonio Delgado.

The current standings are based on nine days of early voting and the in-person election day last Tuesday, June 23. The Board of Elections still needs to tally absentee ballots, which it won't begin doing until July 1.

Counties “received  a historically high number of absentee ballots for all elections held on June 23 due to the coronavirus pandemic. Unofficial election night results do not include the results of absentee ballot voting,” according to the state Board of Elections.
