Keeping Kate’s legacy alive

WAYNE COUNTY, PA — Where do you begin when you are inspired to continue your loved one’s legacy? How do you begin to describe how much your loved one means to you, when you have so much you want to say and do in their memory?

Love makes it possible! It always guides you in the right direction. That’s what the Frisch/Carmody family and friends did. They let love for their beloved Kate guide them to continue her legacy through the Kate Frisch Carmody Memorial Fund.

Family was key in Kate’s life. She loved spending time with her husband, Bob, and her daughter, Lindsey. Kate enjoyed her time with her friends, and she adored her two cats.

Kate loved unconditionally, gave freely, and was inspired to help others. She owned and operated Kate’s Creative Hair Design in Honesdale.

To help carry on Kate’s legacy and to honor her passion for wellness and her profession, the memorial fund provides an annual scholarship to a Honesdale High School student heading to cosmetology school.

Additionally, the fund provides annual donations to the Penn Lung Cancer Fund to help fund further cancer research. The fund also offers financial assistance to local, non-smoking cancer patients and delivers chemotherapy care packages to local cancer patients undergoing treatment.

The Fall Music Festival is honored to continue supporting this great cause in memory of our friend Kate with a $4,000 donation to Kate’s Wish. Our goal is to help Kate’s family and friends to continue raising awareness about lung cancer, funds for research and more.

People helping each other, that’s what Kate was about, that’s what her family and friends are about, and that’s what the Fall Music Festival is about. Our strengths put together will continue the chain of goodness to unite more people, helping even more people in return. We cannot ask for a greater legacy than that.

As Roy T. Bennett said, “Help others without any reason and give without the expectation of receiving anything in return.”
